The corporate world is frightening enough on its own, so it makes total sense to have it as the backdrop of a horror movie. The trailer just released for Corporate Retreat, a horror dark comedy centering on a group of young execs eager to climb the corporate ladder. Let’s take a closer look.
Corporate Retreat is directed by Aaron Fisher (Inside The Rain) who also co-wrote the script with Kerri Lee Romeo. Gary J. Tunnicliffe, who’s worked on Scream 4 and Halloween: Resurrection, was at the helm of special effects makeup. The cast includes Alan Ruck, Odeya Rush, Ashton Sanders, Rosanna Arquette, Sasha Lane, Zion Moreno, Tyler Alvarez, and Benjamin Norris.
The trailer opens with the clichés associated with corporate retreats—a natural landscape, wellness exercise, and ambitious professionals who are full of themselves. Then, the getaway takes a devious turn when someone decides to have them participate in a deadly team-building experience.
From this sneak peek, I could tell there’s going to be twisted torture scenes and laughs. I enjoy horror that’s served with a gallows sense of humor, so I’m looking forward to checking this out.
