The Witches Brew is a Los Angeles-based event organizer that hosts a variety of spooky events throughout the year. They recently presented a Valloween night market in Santa Ana, California, for all those searching for macabre Valentine’s Day gifts for either themselves or others. I had a wonderful time browsing and am here to share what I witnessed that evening.

The night market was set up along an avenue in downtown Santa Ana, surrounded by restaurants and cafes. There were dozens of vendors present and the crowds were bustling. Many people showed up to peruse the array of strange and unusual goodies. Part of the magic of The Witches Brew is that it provides opportunities to shop a variety of spooky small businesses in one place. I follow so many on social media, so it’s neat to see their merchandise in person and have a chance to meet the owners.

Every vendor that was featured is an independent creator and has a passion for their craft. The event was the perfect space to mingle with individuals who share an appreciation for weird, alternative treasures. From dark art and fashion to psychic readings, there was something to suit everyone.

Third Eye Alley Cat was one of the first vendors I came across. The founder, Alex, specializes in an assortment of oddities and taxidermy. A few of the pieces that caught my attention were framed butterflies and scorpion figures laid in coffins.

The Sugarwitch Co. had a colorful display filled with aromatic soy candles. Their products are made with clean ingredients and are free from many allergens. Plus, they smelled amazing! Vampire’s Milk immediately caught my eye and had a sweet scent. The husband bought Abundance Coffee and Lunar Eclipse. The first smells like an aromatic café, while the latter makes me think of walking in a forest under the moonlight. They’re great candles to light for a cozy night at home.

Acorn & Clover Oddities is run by someone who I’m happy to say I know! The owner Jess carefully handmakes every item in her shop. Her pieces are one-of-a-kind and have a whimsical charm. Her most popular items are her worm trinkets. They’re available as earrings, necklaces and brooches. She also makes these beautiful mixed media art displays in coffin cases. I couldn’t walk away empty handed, so I purchased an adorable glow-in-the-dark ghost neck piece.

Backstitch Bruja was the featured seller of the night. Yvette is the mastermind behind this brand and has a boutique in San Dimas, California. Her shop celebrates Halloween year-round and carries apparel, handbags, jewelry and more. Many people eagerly lined up at her booth to snag some merch.

Horror House of Alchemy was new to me. This small business sells a variety of perfumes inspired by gothic romance. I sampled a few scents and they were delightful. A few fragrances included Occult, The Love Witch and Spellbook.

Another vendor I purchased from goes by Pineapple Prince. They’re an artist, creating artwork inspired by horror pop culture. This individual is quite gifted. There was an impressive painting of Salma Hayek’s character in From Dusk Till Dawn. There were also drawings of Lily Munster, Lydia Deetz, Jack and Sally, and so many others. I have a penchant for dark art and am always looking to add to my collection. I chose an art print of Aaliya as Akasha in Queen of the Damned and one of burlesque queen Dita Von Teese.

There are so many other vendors I want to mention. No Mercy 3 Visions had a set of stunning handmade Sinners Rosaries. Jo Noir Designs had an array of spooky nail art to browse. Wicked Misfit had a collection of cool and creepy handbags. I could go on and on. Ideally, I would have loved to have purchased at least one item from every single seller. However, I had to resist the temptation to splurge.

The Valloween Night Market is one of many events The Witches Brew plans to hold this year. Their next affair is a horror pop-up happening in March! Make sure to follow them on social media for all the updates.
