The Boulet Brothers and their entourage of monsters have taken the U.S. by storm on the official Dragula season 666 tour. The tour began in last August and has traveled to major cities nationwide. The whole excursion is slated to wrap up in late September, and I attended the Los Angeles stop. If you haven’t read my recaps of past shows, let me preface by saying that I’m a huge Dragula fan and this is the third event I’ve attended. Let’s dive into all the horror, filth and glamour!
Dracmorda and Swanthula, the masterminds behind the drag competition show Dragula, have slayed yet again with this drag show extravaganza. After every season, the queens of darkness take their finalists and winner of the Super Monster title on tour. The finalists of season 666 included Grey Matter and Auntie Heroine and reigning champion Asia Consent. There’s also special guests featured at select shows. For LA, the special guest performer was Majesty, but more on them later.
The event took place once again at The Belasco. I did general admission, which was standing room only, but it gave me the opportunity to be closer to the stage. There were VIP tickets that included seating on the upper balcony, but for a Dragula show, you want to be as close as possible to the action. When the lights dimmed and The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula theme song started playing, everyone went wild. Drac and Swan looked killer in their latex bat-shaped attire.

The show is divided into two parts, so every performer goes on stage twice. After the Boulets welcomed the audience, Auntie Heroine started off the night. She took the form of an insect and was quite methodical with her movements, pointing her pincers at onlookers as if she would sting at any moment. It was awesome when she descended from the stage and into the crowd. I was able to get an even closer look, which I wasn’t expecting. I told you; it pays to be on the showroom floor.

Majesty, the special guest performer, was next. Their number was vampire-inspired, from the Dracula headpiece to the IV bag filled with blood. Majesty was a Dragula season two contestant and made it to the final three. Although they didn’t win the title, Majesty has gone through some transformations with their drag. This is part of what prompted them to return for season six, much to the surprise of the other competitors. While Majesty did decide to bow out during the middle of the season for mental health reasons, they proved on the show and in this live performance that they are still at the top of their game.

Grey Matter followed and their look was on point. This drag performer has a background in special effects, so their costumes and makeup on the series were always of a high caliber. It brings to mind Dragula: Titans winner Victoria Black whose FX knowledge gave her an edge in the competition. Grey Matter looked like a menacing jester dressed in the most royal garb.

Asia Consent, who was crowned Super Monster of season 666, delivered a performance inspired by Terrifier, and I died! She was dressed as Art the Clown and, true to the spirit of the films, gave filth and gore. She was such a strong performer during her season on Dragula, so I was really excited to see her live. She’s even better to watch in person; absolutely incredible!
The Boulet Brothers closed out the first half performing their original music live. Over the years, the pair has released singles and an EP titled Halloween House Party. They sang “All Hallows’ Eve,” “Ghost Train” and “Nosferatu Beach Party.” Seriously, what a treat to see them sing in the flesh. After intermission, they also opened the second half of the show with a performance that embraced vintage Halloween and witchy energy.
Majesty returned as a demented sunflower doll. Grey Matter lip synced to a bubbly, electronic tune materializing as a glistening green demon. Auntie Heroine killed it with her lip sync to the iconic Nine Inch Nails song, “Closer.” She was dressed as a terrifying life-size Jack in the Box toy. The music combined with her creepy, mechanical movements were hypnotizing.

Asia Consent performed the final act of the evening. Continuing with her ode to the Terrifier franchise, she came out dressed in attire reminiscent of the Valkyrie costume that the character Sienna wears in her showdown with Art the Clown in the sequel. She used this performance to make a powerful statement about the transgender community and the transgender rights movement. News clips talking about various cases of violence committed against trans individuals played on the big screen. It was triggering, sobering and eye-opening. Asia Consent is a trans drag performer, so the topic is a significant one to her. Her character choice was very fitting given that she assumed the role of a heroine battling menacing forces.

At the conclusion, Drac and Swan were joined on stage by their drag monsters to give their finals bows to the audience. However, before we were dismissed, the Boulets played the trailer for Dragula: Titans season 2! I’m so pumped for that. The season premier is October 7th on Shudder and AMC+, so mark your calendars.

Once everyone dispersed, I headed to the merch table because it’s my tradition that I buy a Boulet Brothers t-shirt when I attend an event. Drag performer Abhora was also traipsing around, so I had to get a photo with her. I’ve seen her at shows in the past and she’s always so humble when it comes to interacting with viewers of Dragula. Abhora competed in season two and was featured in the first season of Titans. She’s returning for the second season of Dragula: Titans and I’m looking forward to seeing what she has in store because she’s always fascinating to watch.
I hope you enjoyed this recap, and if you missed your chance to attend this tour, don’t worry because you can stream all seasons of The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula on Shudder and AMC+. The queens of darkness are also hosting their annual Halloween ball in Los Angeles and making special appearances on select nights at Knott’s Scary Farm this spooky season. And they will definitely be back with another amazing tour next year after Titans season two is finished, so keep your eyes out for that in 2026.
