The Drood has been producing music for more than a decade and has gained a reputation for their unique experimentation with sound. Based out of Denver, CO, they’re a psych-rock band consisting of members Nathan Jamiel, Daniel Watts and Hayden Peltier. They dabble in multiple genres, including industrial, post-rock and psychedelia. I must admit, I haven’t listened to a lot of psych rock, and while I’m well acquainted with industrial music, I was curious to find out how this trio implements the genre in their work. I found their fourth full-length album, The Book of Drood, to be an interesting mix of trip hop, industrial and dark ambient vibes.

The Sixth Chamber Debuts New Album ‘Beyond the Night Veil’
It’s time to descend into the bowels of hell with The Sixth Chamber. The gothic doom metal band has just unleashed their third full length album titled Beyond the Night Veil. Over the last few years, they’ve released singles giving listeners a taste of what was to come. A few of these tracks included “Blood of the Prophet,” “Walpurgis Night” and “Red Death Masquerade.” Here’s what you can expect from their latest LP.

How the band, In Isolation, has gone under my radar for so many years, is beyond me, but I’m thrilled to have been able to experience their music recently. It’s a fascinating blend of ‘80s New Wave and dark alternative sounds. They debuted their first single, “The Wrong Girl,” in 2007 and have gone on to produce a wealth of songs. This past June, the group released their latest project, Albums | Singles| Soundtracks, which delivers a retrospective of their past 15 years creating music.
