When Mother’s Day rolls around, I see a ton of gift ideas, but sadly, none that resonate with moms who have darker tastes. Well, I decided to set things right and create a gift guide filled with recommendations suited for the macabre parent. Here, you’ll find ghastly items meant to pamper and electrify the Morticia Addams in your life. To all the mommies that are into Halloween, horror, witchcraft, goth and gothic, this is for you.
Note: This list is not exhaustive but will at least give you a good start and serve as a source of sinister inspiration. The article features no affiliate links. I’m simply supplying the URLs to support these small businesses.
Vampy & Witchy Bath Bombs

What mother wouldn’t want to immerse in a warm, enchanting bath after a long day with the children? Bath bombs are a delightful way to enhance the experience, and there are many options vamps and witches will love. Drop them in and watch as they infuse the water, dissolving into pixie dust. Some have spiritual properties and others are in the shape of classic horror characters. There’s even a Bathory Blood Bath Bomb! Take a look at the selection below.

Glamour Ghoul Beauty

Usually, mummies don’t get enough time to beautify, and if the person you’re shopping for is a beauty fiend, why not contribute to their dark cosmetics collection? From finding the perfect shade of black lipstick to eyeshadow palettes that contain colors of the night sky, the following brands feature goodies that speak to the femme fatale.

Gothic Jewelry
Nothing adds that oh-so spellbinding touch like the perfect accessory. Jewels, gems, charms and trinkets can help a mom channel her inner-goddess, and I know for myself, a statement piece never fails to empower me. Most vendors I’m including handmake their products, offering exquisite, one-of-a-kind creations not replicated anywhere else.
Haunting Candles

There’s no denying that candles emanate a mysterious and supernatural vibe. They’re perfect to light when one’s meditating, bathing or spellcasting. I’ve come across glorious selections that are inspired by Victorian gothic literature, horror films, magick and so much more. Some are specifically candle companies, while others are shops that carry a macabre selection year-round.
Spooky Loungewear

If the ghoulish mother in your life loves lounging in pjs all day, then help her do it in full spooky style. A set of cozy, kooky pajamas will relax and put a smile on any morbid mom’s face. Now, pickings can be slim when it’s not Halloween season. However, I managed to find some shops you can order from. And if all else fails, do a “Halloween pajamas” search on Esty.
Bewitchin’ Kitchen

Is the mother you know a wizard in the kitchen? Well, swap out that chef’s hat for a witchy one because it’s time to get the cauldron boiling and bubbling. Have a look at these gift suggestions that will make cooking simply magical.

Great list, Jenn! Especially for those sorceresses deep undercover in the Vanilla world who wish secretly for anything other than bouquets, Chanel and Godiva. Well, maybe that last one, not so unappreciated, but you get the idea.
So many great ideas, as much a scintillating thrill to shop as to receive. Pity there’s only one opportunity to indulge.
Or maybe there’s more, with birthdays, Christmas and even Halloween. Quadruple the macabre!

Thank you! Even though I created it for Mother’s Day, like you mention, I think the list can be a helpful resource when shopping for anyone with a spooky side any time of the year 🙂
