It’s the start of a new year, which means it’s time to release my annual Odd & Macabre Events Calendar for 2022! Unlike the past two years, there are quite a few venues that have already announced dates for upcoming festivities. My fingers are crossed that these will all take place. As always, I’m going to attend as much as I can. Activities are slowly popping up, and I’ll continually be updating this post, so make sure to check back for new additions.

Although I’m based near Los Angeles, I’m doing my best to include things that are happening in other parts of the globe. Who wouldn’t want to discover spooky adventures occurring in their neck of the woods? Some of what you’ll find here include the first-ever Satanic convention, vampire soirees, immersive shows, dark art exhibits, virtual gatherings and more. Cheers to another year filled with chills and thrills!

  1. Wow Jenn, 2022 absolutely bristles with the odd, the tingly, and above all, with the thrilling. Major kudos to you for writing up everything!

Comments, though just a few, lest this go to 1,762 paragraphs:

It’s awesome to read of the Oddities Flea Market in March! You may recall how much this excited the last time, and I sincerely hope you can find a way to visit again this year. Oh, please, please, please….

Knott’s Scary Farm, eh? I remember Knott’s Berry from my early childhood in Huntington Beach, though I wouldn’t imagine the honeyed nostalgia of youth could envision what’s going on there this fall.

You mention events in Mass and in Tampa. Is a cross-continental trip in your future?

Regarding your birthday, seriously Jenn, the 17th? You couldn’t have waited two weeks?

So much more to say, but this falls just three or four sentences short of the saga threatened earlier. Thanks so much for the awesome writeup, Jenn! The Spidey-Sense is pinging like crazy!

    1. If only I could clone myself to be in more than one place! I want to try to attend as many local events as I can. Regarding out-of-state events, none planned as of now, but hopefully I can make one happen. That would be fun!

Yes, I’ve always thought it funny that I was born exactly two weeks before Halloween. Right in the middle of spooky season, so I guess it’s still fitting 🙂

I’m happy you’ve found what I have on the calendar so far exciting, and I can’t wait to add more. Thank you!

  2. Ha, I remember when the Castle first opened. I think that’s where I saw a certain band play, and they weren’t well received. We just thought it was one of those “here today, gone tomorrow” bands, and nobody thought that Marilyn Manson would go very far. *laugh*
