It’s time to descend into the bowels of hell with The Sixth Chamber. The gothic doom metal band has just unleashed their third full length album titled Beyond the Night Veil. Over the last few years, they’ve released singles giving listeners a taste of what was to come. A few of these tracks included “Blood of the Prophet,” “Walpurgis Night” and “Red Death Masquerade.” Here’s what you can expect from their latest LP.

A tradition that pays homage to the dead and began in Mexico with the Aztec and Nahua tribes is alive and well today. I’m referring to Dia de los Muertos. The holiday is a mix of Mesoamerican and European customs and celebrates the memory of those who’ve departed from this earthly realm. Hollywood Forever Cemetery held their annual Dia y Noche del los Muertos event and this was my second year attending the latter. I’m here to tell you all about it and share photos from the evening.

Recently, I had the pleasure of attending a press event where they gave an exclusive preview of this year’s festivities and introduced the theme. It was an evening filled with delightful music, beautiful rituals, delicious food and vibrant décor.

Since its experimental beginnings in the UK in the early 1980s, the goth subculture has sprouted and spread across the globe. Goth music can be heard and enjoyed in all sorts of languages, from German to Spanish. In fact, there’s been a thriving goth scene throughout Latin America for some time and content creator KB is spreading awareness about it with their YouTube channel, Goth Music Latin America.

Besides October 31st, this Halloween and horror convention is one of the biggest spooky events of the year and is the highlight of my summerween. Gather round the crystal ball because we’re celebrating Psychic Day! Interestingly, the origins of the holiday are a mystery and it’s not known for certain who established it. However, what is agreed upon is that the occasion celebrates individuals who are in tune with their extrasensory perception (ESP), otherwise referred to as the sixth sense. Psychic Day takes place annually on the first Sunday in August and to commemorate it this year, I’m highlighting respected psychic and medium, Richard-Lael Lillard, also known as The Gentleman Psychic.
