Musician Dolly Dagger emerged just a few years ago and has since been blazing across the LA music scene. Originally from Australia, she’s made the City of Angels her home base and primary place to create. If her stage name sounds familiar, that’s because it’s the title of a well-known Jimi Hendrix tune, and it suits her style well. Her multifaceted alternative rock sound cuts through the BS to reveal hardcore truths about existence. She’s recently unleashed a powerful new single, “Tower,” along with an accompanying music video.

The Drood has been producing music for more than a decade and has gained a reputation for their unique experimentation with sound. Based out of Denver, CO, they’re a psych-rock band consisting of members Nathan Jamiel, Daniel Watts and Hayden Peltier. They dabble in multiple genres, including industrial, post-rock and psychedelia. I must admit, I haven’t listened to a lot of psych rock, and while I’m well acquainted with industrial music, I was curious to find out how this trio implements the genre in their work. I found their fourth full-length album, The Book of Drood, to be an interesting mix of trip hop, industrial and dark ambient vibes.

This is the story that comes to life in dance metal band FIRA’s debut album From Vegas With Blood. Recently, I shared news of the Halloween release of their music video for “Endless Night” and got details about the musical project in interviews with members Hannah Fira and Michael “Vette” Rodd. Dance metal band FIRA will be lighting up this Halloween season with a new music video for the single “Endless Night.” It was filmed during their performance at the Los Angeles Endless Night Vampire Ball back in February where they opened for the rock band Orgy. Last fall, I had the opportunity to check out the group’s energy-fueled show at goth club Bar Sinister in Hollywood, California. Nearly a year later, the duo, consisting of vocalist Hannah Fira and guitarist Michael “Vette” Rodd, is also preparing to drop their first studio album titled From Vegas With Blood.

For nearly two decades, The Sixth Chamber has been gracing the metal music scene with heavy riffs, mesmerizing rhythms and haunting lyrics that transport listeners to a dark, mythological realm. The band’s sound delivers an intoxicating blend of 70s rock, psychedelia and gothic metal interspersed with exotic embellishments. I got to see these self-declared “denizens of otherworldly realms” perform live recently at the iconic Rainbow Bar & Grill on the Sunset Strip for an energy-fueled show.
